Split System Installation:
The Ecogenica HPWH's are no longer $33 however, Government rebates are still significant, and they are affordable, after rebates. Because the designs are so energy efficient, the rebates on Ecogenica systems are impressive.
Ecogenica Heat Pumps are approved for State and Federal Government rebates. And because the systems are so energy efficient, they save more energy than comparable products. Customers and the environment benefit because these rebates make the Heat Pumps cheaper fully installed.
What does a 30-year-old Heat Pump Water Heater look like?
Installed in 1994, the Quantum Solar Boosted Heat Pump Water Heaters shown here uses black aluminium panels (shown here - weather beaten), which are installed on the roof. Refrigerant runs through the panels, and as exposed to the wind, rain and sun, abundant energy is available to assist the evaporation of the refrigerant, transforming it into high a pressure gas, which was then compressed, to make super-heated gas. The super-heated gas gains velocity as the energy from the sun increases, and it passes rapidly around the condenser pipes which were bonded to the steel hot water cylinder, the cylinder heats, becoming a heat exchanging, heating the water inside the cylinder. And as the energy is transferring to the water the gas loses pressure and the cycle continuous - for 30 years in this case.
The downside to the design was that it could overheat the compressor, as so much energy is absorbed through the panels. And the panels required 3 trades to install them. The Quantum Solar Boosted design comes with a red button on the compressor, which is an overheat protector and if engaged it requires a manual reset. Consequently, this system runs at night in the Summer, making the most of cheaper Time Of Use Tariffs.
A 30-year-old Heat Pump Water Heater - here it is. Shown here is the water tank which is connected to the black evaporators (panels on the roof). The tank inside is the heat pump and condenser tank that is connected to the panels shown above. Sold to Philip Burkert, Robinvale, Vic, in 1994.
Installed in 2005 Sustainable ES worked with the King George V (KGV) Recreation Centre, The Rocks, Sydney to reduce hot water costs by 70%!
The Ecogenica range was developed as a next generation design based upon the Quantum and Siddons Solar Stream Heat Pump designs.
Performance has been significantly. Improved with the Ecogenica commercial range. A 1kW compressor putting out more than 5 kW of power. Delivering up to 80% energy savings.
Featuring Quick Connect "One Shot Couplings" that permitted natural refrigerant to pass from the tanks to the evaporator and compressor unit. This configuration makes for reliable and easy installation of the condenser tank and heat pump (external unit) which sits outside. The condenser in the Ecogenica is also improved using an advanced CAD/CFD developed Micro-Channel condenser, to provide world's best heat transfer and reliability.
The Ecogenica Heat Pump are all individually pressure tested before dispatch.
